Winters are beautiful and people just love the cold and chilly weather. While it may not be the favorite season it surely is not hated by everyone. A challenge that a lot of people face in winters is the problem with skin and how it reacts with the cold. In winters the skin becomes very dry and flaky. One has to put extra effort in order to take care of their skin. There are a few tricks and tips that we can share with you so that you can have nice glowing skin this winter.

Use luke-warm water

Putting water on your face if it’s dry may seem like a solution but it really is not. The same is the case with taking a bath. You might think that taking a bath with hot water would be good for the skin but it isn’t. The hot water removes whatever little oil is remaining on the skin and makes it even drier. TO avoid such things it is best to have a bath with lukewarm water. Even if you wish to wash your face it is just better to not use hot water and go for lukewarm water instead.

Stay away from soaps

When we say stay away from soaps we do not mean that you totally discontinue its usage. In winters it’s better to apply soap to places like underarms, legs, and feet only. In other places, it takes off essential oils and dries the skin a lot. You need to do a lot of research and find soaps that are high in moisture, are fragrance-free, and relatively mild so that you do not damage your skin.

Use the right moisturiser

Using moisturizers in winters is common but it is not common knowledge knowing that there are right and wrong moisturizers out there. By right and wrong, we mean that not all moisturizers are good for use in the cold and then not all of them are good for your skin either. According to Dr. Alissa Lamoureux, dermatologist, there are a lot of factors that come into play while selecting the best moisturizer for your skin in the winters. It is best to contact a trusted dermatologist in order to understand what moisturizer would suit you in such winters.

Be picky about food and drinks

You can not just keep eating anything in the winters if you are aiming to beautify your skin. You need to keep a lot of focus and watch what you eat. Grapes, watermelon, apples, and other such fruits have high water content and are good for you. Stay away from fried food. Vegetables like onions, tomatoes, and broccoli are also a go. Hydration is the key so make sure you drink lots of water.

It is not easy to keep your skin looking healthy and young, especially in cold weather. The cold can easily dry up your skin and make it look aged. It is thus very important to follow the aforementioned instructions if you want to take care of your precious skin.
