H&M Fall Makeup Collection Haul + Swatches

Hey!

IMG_1317

During the weekend I stopped by H&M store to look at their Fall Makeup Collection 2015. I must say, I was quite surprised that they have such a huge range of eyeshadow and lip colours. It took some time for me to go through the whole makeup but I managed to pick few products that I liked and now I am ready to share my thoughts with you whether or not their makeup is worth buying.

H&M EYESHADOWS

First, let’s start with three eyeshadow colours, that I picked.

H&M eyeshadows: (from left to right) Mesmerise Me; Shellfish; Let it Shine.

PROS:

I am absolutely in love with the shades I got.

Mesmerise Me is an absolutely gorgeous dark shimmery green colour, which will be perfect for Christmas time.

“Shellfish” is a light pink shade with a subtle shimmer in it. I would definitely wear this eyeshadow everyday. It looks so sheek and has that subtle hint of elegance…

“Let it Shine” is the shade that I was most excited about. It is a silky colour with a beautiful velvety finish. I adore the effect it has on the eye. It definitely is the most unique shade out of all.

CONS:

One thing that I don’t like about the eyeshadows is the packaging. White and gold colours look fine to me but the case itself feels very plastic and cheap. I am seriously thinking of depotting these babies to my Z palette.

Another thing is with the shade “Mesmerise Me”. You see how gorgeous it looks in the pan. Just…Amazing… However, when I swatch it on my hand, I see more of a black colour than of green. I haven’t tried this shade on my lid, so I hope that packing on the right amount, the green will pop out.

Other than that, I really  enjoy the quality of these eyeshadows. They are very pigmented, feel very silky and apply smoothly.

H&M LUSH LIP VINYL

H&M Lush Lip Vinyl in “Tuscan Blush”

This lipstick is so pigmented, apply extremely smoothly and looks B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L.

The smell is very subtle and does not irritate me at all. It reminds me of vanilla mostly. It feels nice on the lips, it doesn’t smudge.  Wearability is identical as of most of the lip glosses out there. I think I would come back to pick a few more shades of this lip gloss.

H&M Aqua Liquid Eyeliner

The last item that I picked is this eyeliner in “Fireworks”.

H&M Aqua Liquid Eyeliner in “Fireworks”

“Fireworks” is a black liquid eyeliner with a sparkly finish. It is waterproof and really quick drying. The tip is very thin and easy to work with, which is very important to me.

CONS: The glitter transfers very nicely, but if you want to create a totally opaque wing, you would need at least two coats of it. However, I picked up this product with the idea that I will wear it on top of the black eyeliner. “Fireworks” will intensify the black eyeliner and give it a very elegant shimmer. Again, it is a perfect eyeliner for Christmas when you want to glam up a bit.

VERDICT:

Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

I would recommend you to check out their collection since I really do enjoy the quality.

I paid a total of NOK 317, which equals $37,27.

I think the products were worth the price and will be a great addition to my collection. Stay tuned for Makeup Tutorials with each of these products. I cannot wait to incorporate these shades into my looks.

The green shadow reminds me of nars night eyeshadows where they look beautiful but all end up swatching black like that. I wonder what it would look like over a black base or cream eyeshadow. That is what I have seen people do with those kinds of shadows. Or maybe a green even.

Hey Alisha! I haven’t tried putting green eyeshadow on a black base, but it works very well with NYX Eye Jumbo Pencil in ‘Milk’, which is a bright white base. White brings out the green very well. 🙂

How did the green shadow work out for you? Green is my fav color and it looked so pretty in the case.

I used this green shade in one of my tutorials. CLICK HERE TO SEE THAT POST.
With a white base the green looked really beautiful. 🙂
